Hillwood Meditation Centre
Hillwood Road Meditation Skills Centre, 362 Hillwood Road, Hillwood, Tasmania, Australia
Not just for meditators, people come to the Hillwood Meditation Centre from many different backgrounds and for many different reasons. It's a supportive place where you can talk about mental health, grief, loneliness or spiritual experiences, or you can just come for the social life and scenery or for a restful holiday in one of the retreats. The building is a restored apple shed with information and memorabilia from Hillwood's orcharding past on display, and the artwork includes a three metre high apple mandala. It's in a beautiful setting with extensive gardens, large deciduous trees, a spring-fed dam, a corridor of native paperbarks and grassy slopes all visible from the road. It's a professionally run business, not associated with a religion or any other institution, and it is more concerned with happiness than profits.
