Accommodation in Hillwood for groups - Farmhouse Retreat
Accommodation for groups of up to 12 or 16 people
The Farmhouse Retreat beside the Hillwood Road Meditation Skills Centre is available for groups of up to 12 people (spread across 8 beds in 5 bedrooms), while the Goldilocks Retreat (Steph's home, just 3km away) has 2-3 rooms available for individuals or pairs of visitors. Larger groups may want to use both retreats, making a total of 8 individually locking bedrooms including 5 queen-size bedrooms and one room with a double bed. None of the bedrooms has an ensuite and both retreats have strict noise rules. The Farmhouse Retreat opened in October 2023 and was listed on Airbnb for six months, during which time it was road-tested by several large groups and achieved an average rating of 5 stars. There is a minimum booking of $400 for the Farmhouse retreat which includes two nights accommodation for up to three people, but special offers are available for groups of seniors or if your group will be attending sessions at the Hillwood Meditation Centre. Please contact Steph to discuss dates and fees.
More about the Farmhouse Retreat
On a 14 acre property shared with the Hillwood Meditation Centre (just visible through the trees), the Farmhouse Retreat has been set up to help your group enjoy a quiet low-tech holiday or get together for learning or team-building. Special features include a large central room which can be used for yoga, meetings or games, a large dining room with both cafe-style and banquet style tables, an enclosed patio which may be used as a chapel, individually locking bedrooms and views across paddocks and gardens. You will often feel like you are the only people around but please note that your noise will travel to the Meditation Centre and to the neighbours across the gully. Local noise regulations and House Rules about noise both apply. Your group will have exclusive use of the Farmhouse and the gardens immediately around the house, while the rest of the grounds are used by Steph and her personal visitors. You may wish to attend meditation meetings, workshops, consultations or other activities during your stay but there is no pressure to do so. The Farmhouse is a great base for exploring North East Tasmania, a profoundly peaceful area. Please make sure you are comfortable with the house rules and the distance from towns and supermarkets before you book.
